Time & size of the work
Extra Small

Small
Grants with limited questions and little to no additional documentation required. Clear project or program already identified. Could require up to 10 hours of time. Requires full payment ahead of time.
Medium
Now we are firmly into full grants requiring longer written narratives, current data, factoring staff salary into programs with real world measurable impacts and outcomes. Could require up to 20 hours of time. A 50% deposit is required before our kick-off meeting.
Large
Now we are into lots of data, details and much longer narratives, more questions and story telling. This may also require market trends, estimates of work, or contractors. Maybe this grant is Co-written with a partner? Could require up to 35 hours. A 50% deposit is required to start work.
Extra Large
These grants would be a big jump forward in terms of size and complexity. Examples could include USDA grants requiring 50–150 hours of work. We could discuss breaking up payments based on deliverables.
